The new Queen of Country Miranda Lambert has announced that she’s formed her own girl group with her two best gal pals, Ashley Monroe and the stunningly named Angaleena Presley (porn star, perhaps?).
The group, named Pistol Annies, made their public debut at ACM’s ‘Girls Night Out’ TV special. They won’t be sidetracking Lambert’s successful solo-career though, and will simply act as a fun side project for the time being.
“For now it’s just a fun outlet for me and my friends to have some fun,” she tells the Abilene Reporter-News. “We will let the fans decide if they want to hear/see more.”“We’ve been writing songs like crazy, and I always wanted to do a girl project,” Miranda explains. “It’s not your typical girl trio. We definitely have an edge. [laughs] We sing a lot about housewives.”
Dixie Chicks who? The Wreckers what? It’s all about Pistol Annies now!
In addition to working with Pistol Annies, Miranda is also writing her fourth studio album, and is aiming to have new material out before Christmas rolls around. Her current single “Heart Like Mine” from her latest albumRevolution is sitting at No. 2 this week on Billboard’s Country Chart.
Just when I think that Miranda can’t get any more amazing, she goes and creates her own country girl group. And the cherry on top is that they actually kick ass, as evident by their smokey, sexy first single “Hell On Heels”. Check it out below!
